Oakland County is investing millions of tax dollars to improve its public safety radio communication system to ensure residents won't experience disruptions in 911 services long-term.
The communications system, called OakWIN, is used by virtually every community in the county to ensure all emergency calls received by dispatch centers are relayed to police, fire, and other emergency service personnel responding to those calls and allows that personnel to communicate with each other.
