Depending upon weather issues and frost laws, the Michigan Department of Transportation expects to break ground on phase two of the M-59 reconstruction project March 12.
Frost laws are seasonal restrictions on traffic weight limits and speeds on roads subject to thaw weakening.
MDOT spokesperson Diane Cross said work crews will begin widening right shoulders in both directions so traffic can be shifted over.
