The Cleveland Cavaliers announced Thursday that shooting guard JR Smith has been suspended one game for detrimental conduct.

Smith will serve the suspension Thursday evening when the Cavaliers host the Philadelphia 76ers at Quicken Loans Arena.

According to ESPN.com's Dave McMenamin, head coach Tyronn Lue said "something happened after shootaround" that necessitated disciplinary action.

Smith is scheduled to return to practice Friday and will be available to play Saturday versus the Denver Nuggets

Smith, 32, is averaging 8.3 points and 3.0 rebounds this season while shooting 39.2 percent from the field and 36.3 percent from three.
