A group of middle school students from Detroit had the chance to plant trees and play with reptiles during Earth Week at Hawk Woods Nature Center in Auburn Hills.
For George Perkins, 15 and an eighth grader at Detroit's Ronald Brown Academy, the program was an eye-opening experience.
"I love this, it's an amazing experience to hold animals I haven't held before," Perkins said.
