Royal Oak resident Carol Hennessey has been honored with the DAR Community Service Award from the Three Flags Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.

The award recognizes the achievements of the those who volunteer in their local community.

Hennessey was recognized for her service to many groups in the community, especially those involving veterans.
