DETROIT >> John Hicks stepped into the batter's box and saw a shifted infield, playing the right-handed hitter to pull the ball.

He had other plans.

Hicks' bunt single scored JaCoby Jones in the 12th inning, lifting the Detroit Tigers to a 3-2 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Wednesday.

"I looked to the right side and said this would be a perfect time for it," Hicks said.
