Voice-first smart speakers such as Alexa, Google Home or Amazon Echo have the potential to make a big difference in letting older adults age in place and avoid social isolation, according to experts.

These devices connect families, help those with mobility issues with simple tasks such as controlling the lights and thermostats, and are able to remind people to take their medications.
