The party is over for Andiamo's Italian restaurant in Royal Oak.

Andiamo closed after its final serving Friday night, ending a 19-year run as one of the most popular eateries on Main Street in the heart of the city's downtown district.

Warren-based Joe Vicari Restaurant Group president and CEO Joe Vicari said a number of factors played into the decision to shut down operations, including the growing food offerings in neighboring Ferndale as well as downtown Detroit, along with the demolition of a municipal parking lot behind Main Street businesses to accommodate a new office building.
