Grupo RBS CEO Eduardo Sirotsky Melzer has a message for high-tech, middle-market companies in emerging economies: This could be their moment. Since 2011, he has been leading a Brazilian investment firm, EB Capital, which advises startups on how to get past the hurdle of medium-size scale and become large. In this way, he says, he is creating a new generation of business leaders in Brazil. He argues that emerging economies need this type of leverage to get past the barriers of their current situation.
