At the end of 2018, with Brighton 13th and basking in the afterglow of a 1-0 win over Everton, Chris Hughton warned they still could not “afford to look upwards”. Perhaps he knew something, because Brighton have not won in the league since and hover perilously above the relegation spots. This fixture looks vital to get them going again.
