Jean-Dominique Senard is likely to become a household name this year. He is stepping down as CEO of Michelin and taking on the role of chair of Renault and the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, leading it to regroup after the turmoil of the past year. He is also a coauthor of a French report that inspired PACTE (Plan d'action pour la croissance et la transformation des entreprises) -- a new corporate governance framework aimed at encouraging businesses to take on social and environmental responsibilities alongside their commitments to profits and shareholder returns. In this way, he hopes to counter populism and support the European way of life.
