Ten years after child killer Arthur Ream led police through a wooded area of Macomb Township to Cindy Zarzycki's body, a now-retired sheriff's deputy who escorted him that day recalls Ream claiming he didn't kill the 13-year-old Warren girl.

"He said she died accidently. He didn't say how," Charles Missig, who retired from the Macomb County Sheriff's Office in 2016, told The Macomb Daily this week.
